Product description

This description is for Raphanus sativus: Raphanus sativus or radish is a popular root vegetable, grown and eaten all over the world. The word raphanus is Greek for quickly appearing and refers to how fast these plants germinate. They have leafy tops and a round bulbous root. It is this root that we eat, delicious eaten raw, sliced into a salad. The size and colour differs from variety to variety but theyre most often a vivid bright red-pink colour. Radishes grow best in light soil with lots of sunshine. Pests can be a problem with the leaves, but its not much of an issue as it wont affect the roots.
