Reaching up to 10ft within one season, morning glory produces large purple flowers with a white throat from late spring until the first frosts. I. purpurea is best suited to a sunny spot where the soil is well draining but consistently moist. Growing quickly from seed, it’s ideal for covering large areas of trellising, fencing or wall within one season. I. purpurea also works well in hanging baskets and containers where it will trail over the edges with a cascade of foliage and dazzling blooms.
