Hydrangea petiolaris is a climbing vine plant native to Asia. It can grow up to 50ft high and 6ft wide. In the wild it can be found climbing rock faces and large trees, clinging to them with aerial roots. It has loose clusters of small white flowers on long stalks. It has capsule fruit that contain winged seeds. You can grow it up a wall or a trellis, and is best suited to a spot that gets sun in the morning and is shaded in the afternoon. It doesnt cling very tightly, so a little extra support can be useful, perhaps tie it to a trellis with some twine to prevent wind damage.
