Product description

Fragaria vesca is also known as wild strawberry or alpine strawberry. The leaves have three leaflets, each of which is deeply veined and has a serrated edge. It has white flowers with a yellow centre and produces edible red fruits. It grows to around 30cm in height and likes moist well-drained soil and full sun or partial shade. Evidence of wild strawberries being eaten by humans has been found that dates back to the Stone Age. The fruit is sweet and is used to make jams and sauces. They will spread by sending out runners. The leaves can be brewed into a tea that is said to cure diarrhea.
