Cotoneaster radicans is a low growing evergreen shrub that’s ideally used for groundcover. With multi-stemmed growth, C. radicans reaches a maximum height of between 4ft and 5ft, and provides seasonal interest in the form of dark green leaves, small white flowers in spring and bright berries in the autumn.
Whilst it prefers moist, well-drained soil in a sunny position, cotoneaster radicans is a tough plant that will also grow well in partial shade and all soil types other than in waterlogged conditions. It’s extremely useful where heavy clay is a problem. In addition, it needs little pruning other than to keep it in a desired shape.
