This description is for Chaenomeles x superba: Chaenomeles x superba, or Japanese Quince, can be found in various different types. In general the flowers tend to be shades of red, but in some cases can be white or shades of apricot through to pink. It’s an easy plant to grow and requires little on-going care, making it a great choice for a low maintenance garden. It’s also very hardy, and as long as you plant in a location where it’s sheltered from driving wind and rain, and has a good amount of sunlight, it will thrive. A good choice for growing up a trellis or wall, and looks superb in a cottage garden situation.
