Product description

This description is for Achillea ptarmica: Achillea ptarmica is also known as Sneezeweed or Sneezewort. The word ptarmica is a Greek word meaning causes sneezing so theres no prizes for guessing that this plant can make you sneeze! The dried leaves can be made into sneezing powder. It has pretty daisy like flowers with a mounded yellow button centre. The dark green toothed leaves of this plant are edible, they can also be used as an insect repellant. If you keep livestock you should avoid growing sneezewort as it is poisonous to animals. Its a hardy plant that grows best in moist soil in a sunny position, but it does have good drought tolerance too. This plant even gets a mention in Harry Potter, being used as a potion ingredient.
