Product description

Achillea millefolium , Common yarrow or nosebleed plant. It has silver coloured feathery fern like leaves and small white flowers that grow in convex mound shaped clusters. The plant grows to around a metre in height. In the past yarrow has been used as a medicinal herb by the military to help staunch bleeding from wounds. The common name nosebleed plant comes from this ability to help stop bleeding. Yarrow is a good companion plant if you have other plants that are troubled by pests. Not only does it repel several types of pest, but it also attracts wasps, which will eat the troublesome pests. The leaves are also considered to be a good fertiliser so planting common yarrow can help improve the quality of your soil.
