Sweet flag: if you've got a horrible boggy garden then plant this and at least it will smell nice when your feet are sinking into the mud.

Acorus calamus 'Variegatus' or Variegated Sweet flag is a type of grass with long, thin, variegated leaves that have arching tips and a pleasant fragrance, growing to around 5ft tall. This is an aquatic plant, thriving in boggy ground or at the edge of a pond. This plant will spread, so if you want to contain its growth, then plant it in a pot. You will need to keep it well watered though. If you have a boggy area of your garden, this is the perfect plant to make good use of that bothersome spot.
