Silvervine Fleeceflower

Polygonum aubertii | Also known as: Russian vine, Silver Lace Vine | Rating: 0 votes | Print / Pdf

This white fleecy looking climber is one of the fastest growing vines known – so don’t be sheepish, go and get one for yourself!

Native to China and Russia, Polygonum aubertii or Silvervine Fleeceflower is a fast growing vine. It has bright green leaves that have a red tint when young. The flowers are small but abundant, a green white colour and they are scented. The flowers are long lasting too, blooming all through the summer. It has tiny pink fruit that you can't really see so they don't add anything to the visual effect of this plant. It will grow fine in sun or shade. You will need to prune it regularly as it can quickly become weedy looking.
