Purple Rockcress 'Barker's Double'

Aubrieta x cultorum 'Barker's Double' | Also known as: Aubretia 'Barker's Double' | Rating: 0 votes | Print / Pdf

Aubrieta x cultorum has evergreen foliage, great for year round ground cover. They'll form a cushion on the ground, or they can be planted to cascade beautifully over a wall. The flowers are large and colourful, being pink, violet, white or blue in colour. They flower in spring and they flower so profusely that you'll barely be able to see the foliage. A really stunning spring floral display, and they flower again in late summer. After it has flowered, prune it right back to encourage further flowering. This plant requires well-drained soil and shouldn't be planted anywhere where it will get too much heat.
