Viburnum opulus 'Roseum' or Red Guelder Rose is a large bushy shrub growing to around four metres in both height and width. It has lovely flowers, large ball shaped clusters of white blooms about 6cm across. It's not hard to see why it's also known as the Red snowball tree. It has lobed leaves that turn from green to red in the autumn. This variety has been given the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. It grows well in any type of soil and you can plant it in the shade or full sun, so it's very versatile. Watch out for aphids or leaf spot.
