Epimedium diphyllum | Also known as: Fairy wings, Bishop's hat | Rating: 0 votes | Print / Pdf

Epimedium diphyllum or Bishop's hat is a plant from Japan that is easy to grow. It has white flowers, small and bell shaped that hang from the narrow stems. The leaves are heart shaped, green in colour. In warmer climates it's an evergreen but in cooler climates the foliage will turn a bronze shade and fall from the plant. It's a shade loving plant, it won't like to grow in too much sunlight. It's easy to grow and as well as liking the shade it will also prefer rich, well rained soil. Once it's established it's pretty drought tolerant. You shouldn't have much trouble with insects or disease.
