Make it a low-maintenance kitchen garden.

If you own a garden, your nan must have mentioned 'mulch' a few times. Resist mentioning this old-fashioned word, yet do spread a modern version of mulch - wood chips - around your herbs to save time on de-weeding. Spend it on cooking meals for your friends instead.
