It's also the colour of corn so they Mayans believed yellow to be the colour of provision and sustenance. They're also a symbol of friendship and new beginnings. Regardless of their meaning, yellow flowers do have a tendency to make you smile and forget your troubles for a moment so they're often associated with happiness. Daffodils especially are a great flower to give to a friend. Simple, beautiful, cheery and thoughtful.
