Next time you're cooking with spring onions, save the roots. You'll need about an inch of spring onion for this to work. Place them in a container of water and within just a few days the green part of the spring onion will start to grow again! You can then plant them out in your garden and they'll grow to full size, so you can do this process all over again – never ending spring onions!
This a great little project for kids too as it's so easy to do, and you get quick results.
